Midway - A Concourse
Honoring Midway Airport's namesake and the battle,
which the United States Navy considers one of the most important victories in U.S. Naval
history, the Battle of Midway Memorial was officially dedicated by Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley
on June 4, 2001. The Battle of Midway Exhibit is located at the entry way to Concourse A, to the left as one passes through the Security Checkpoint, prior to gate A1. The Memorial combines computer-generated images with digitized photographs and digitally carved images on aluminum. The uniquely carved etchings include quotes and images from the Battle of Midway events and heroes.
