| The Body of Lake Michigan Todd Slaughter Midway - Security Checkpoint Suspended sculpture located at the security checkpoint, near concessions and food court. The Body of Lake Michigan by Todd Slaughter, created from fiberglass and steel, has been constructed with the physical characteristic data of Lake Michigan, which has been collected and made available by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDID). The sculpture of Lake Michigan is aligned to the geography of the earth's surface just as Lake Michigan itself is aligned. Each section line of the sculpture corresponds to either 1/2 degree of latitude or 1/2 degree of longitude. |
