Battery Recycling Program
  
The Department of Aviation is working in conjunction with the Battery Solutions Recycling Center to recycle used dry cell batteries.  The 5-gallon collection containers have been located throughout City offices at O'Hare and at the ware house at Midway Airport for the convenience of employees.

Three simple steps make it easy to recycle batteries while complying with the Universal Waste Law.  You simply fill the 5-gallon container with used dry cell batteries, call FedEx for pick-up and schedule a drop-off of your new container.  New collection tubes will be installed throughout both airports making them accessible to the traveling public.
