In 2012, the Global Traveler Award for the Best Airport in North America was bestowed on O’Hare International Airport for the 13th consecutive year.  The City of Chicago and the Chicago Department of Aviation are proud of its airports and are working hard to modernize O’Hare, strengthen relationships and support in the surrounding communities, and foster innovative ideas and programs through its sustainability efforts.​
