  • How can I contact lost and found?

Several agencies and organizations at the airport handle lost and found items. When trying to locate a missing item, contact the agency or organization which corresponds closest to the location where you last had the item. For example, if you lost an item at a security checkpoint, please contact the Transportation Security Administration; if you lost an item while waiting for a flight at a gate, contact the airline.   • Can I store luggage at the airport?

Currently there are no facilities or provision for the storage of luggage at O'Hare International Airport.

  • Are there shower facilities available in the terminals?

There are no shower facilities located in the terminals. However, the Hilton Health Club, located directly across from terminals 1, 2 and 3, can be accessed by non-hotel guests for a small fee. For more information, please visit the O'Hare Hilton page.

  • Is wireless Internet access available at O'Hare?

Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout most public areas of the airport, such as gate areas, food courts, etc., and is offered pre- and post-security. The fee is $6.95 for a 24-hour period through the Boingo Network. Once initiated, the service can be used at other Boingo-affiliated locations throughout the U.S. during the paid period.

  • Where can I smoke at O'Hare?

Designated smoking areas are located outside of the terminal. Due to the City of Chicago's Clean Indoor Air Ordinance, smoking is not permitted inside the terminal.

  • How can I transfer from one terminal to another?

The Airport Transit System (ATS) is a quick, convenient, and economical way to get around the airport. The ATS is a free, 24-hour rail system that operates between the three domestic terminals and the international terminal. Terminals 1, 2, and 3 are also connected by walkways before and after security.

  • How do I get to the Chicago Transit Authority's O'Hare Blue Line train station?

The fully-accessible Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line O'Hare International Airport Station is situated in the lower level of Terminal 2. Upon arriving by plane at O'Hare International Airport, you can either walk to the Blue Line station or utilize the Airport Transit System, which connects each terminal and the remote parking lots. A fare can be purchased using cash or credit card in the vending machines located outside the station.

  • Is there an animal relief area?

Animal relief areas are located outside the terminal area. There are no animal relief areas located inside the terminal.

  • Are any concessions open 24 hours?

Yes, some concessions located throughout the terminals are open 24 hours.

  • Is there a post office at O'Hare?

There is no post office at O'Hare but there are mail collection ​boxes scattered throughout the terminals.

  • Where can I exchange currency at O'Hare?

Seaway National Bank provides foreign currency exchange services in each terminal at O'Hare International Airport. Seaway helps travelers prepare for foreign destinations by enabling them to obtain foreign currency before they leave home and exchange funds when they return.

  • What services do you offer for guests with disabilities/mobility impairments?

Getting from one point to another at any airport can be challenging, especially for travelers with disabilities. The Chicago Department of Aviation recognizes these needs and is working to make traveling through Chicago's airports as pleasant and convenient as possible.   • Where are ATM machines located at O'Hare?

ATMs provided by local and national financial institutions are located throughout the airport in each terminal.

  • Is there a business center at O'Hare?

Both the United and the Admirals Club have meeting rooms available. Meeting rooms are also available at the Hilton Chicago O'Hare International Airport Hotel, which is located directly across from Terminals 1, 2, and 3.   • Is there a USO located at O'Hare?

USO facilities are located in Terminal 2, on the Mezzanine Level, before the security checkpoint. The phone number for the USO at O'Hare International Airport is: (773) 686-7396.

  • Where are bicycle racks located at O'Hare?

Outdoor bike racks are provided at the north and south ends of the ATS Terminal.

Ground Transportation

  • Where do I rent a car upon arrival at O'Hare?

O'Hare International Airport offers a variety of options for vehicle rentals. Each rental car company offers free shuttle service which picks up and drops off at the terminal curb fronts. Rental car shuttles pick up at the arrival curb front which is the lower level outside of baggage claim. Each terminal has designated areas on the out-most curb front where shuttles board.   • Where can I catch a shuttle, taxicab or other ground transportation to destinations in/around Chicago?

Taxi Stands are located at the lower level curb front, outside of the baggage claim area, at each terminal. Limousine information can be located at airport information booths, across from Door C, located on the lower-level of each terminal. Buses, trains, and shuttles to the city can be accessed by pedestrian tunnels from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Regional buses and transit between airports are also available.

  • Is the flight on time?

  • How much time should I allow before my flight?

Each airline has their own policies, but in general you should allow 3 hours for international flights and 2 hours for domestic flights.

  • What can I take through security?

For current information on permitted and prohibited items, please visit the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) website.

  • Can I travel without a picture ID?

You may travel without a picture ID by presenting 2 forms of non-picture identification issued by a state or federal agency. However, the absence of proper identification will result in additional screening. Children under 18 are not required to show identification. For more information visit the TSA's website.

  • Does O'Hare offer curbside check-in?

For information about the availability of curbside check-in, please contact your airline by visiting its website or calling its reservation number. Links are provided on the airlines page.

  • Can I escort a child, elderly adult or member of the U.S. military to the gate?

Procedures regarding gate passes for unaccompanied minors and elderly adults vary by airline. Please contact your airline for their policy. With the exception of international flights, U.S. military personnel traveling under orders may be accompanied to the gate by immediate family.   • What are the hours of operation for airline and ticket counters at O'Hare?

Each airline has its own operating hours. Please contact your airline for correct ticket counter hours.

  • How do I find prices for airline tickets to or from O'Hare?

  • Does O'Hare have a cell phone lot?

The cell phone lot is conveniently located immediately north of Economy Parking Lot F.

  • Which hotels are located near the airport?

The Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport Hotel is located directly across from Terminals 1, 2, and 3 and is within walking distance to all domestic terminals by underground walkways and from the international terminal via the Airport Transit System.   • What parking options are available in/around O'Hare?

There are several parking options at O'Hare International Airport ranging from valet service adjacent to the domestic terminal to long-term/economy parking. For more detailed information about parking, please visit the airport website's parking page.

  • Is there a Travelers Aid Office at O'Hare?

The main Travelers Aid office is located in Terminal 2, and is open seven days a week. Several booths are located throughout the terminals as well.

  • Who can I contact regarding U.S. Customs and Border Patrol at O'Hare?

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol are located in Terminal 5. For general information, call 773-894-2900.

  • Where can I get a tax refund for items purchased inside the U.S. before I return to my country?

The Federal Government cannot refund state sales taxes. State taxes are generally not charged to diplomats and employees of some international organizations who have been issued a tax-exemption card.
