Attention Pilots and All Other O'Hare Airfield Users

The following airfield changes are scheduled to occur at O’Hare International Airport on July 23, 2014:

  • The 10L Hold Pad will be permanently closed
  • Taxiway L will be realigned through the closed 10L Hold Pad
  • Taxiway T10 west of Runway 14R/32L will become L
  • Taxiway T9 will be demolished
  • Taxiway K becomes S
  • Taxiway K1 becomes S1
  • Taxiway K2 becomes S2
  • Taxiway K3 becomes S3

These changes are necessary to help facilitate on-going construction O’Hare Modernization Program (OMP) and are detailed on a simple airfield plan.

Runway 14R-32L Closed - Taxiway L Realigned on June 2, 2014

The following Pilot Construction Alert for O’Hare International Airport will be in effect on Monday, June 2, 2014.

The following airfield impacts will be in place to accommodate further construction of the O’Hare Modernization Program (OMP):

  • Runway 14R/32L will be closed until November 2014
  • Taxiways T8, T9 and a portion of T (between T7 and T10) will be closed until November 2014
  • The 10L Hold Pad will be permanently closed
  • Taxiway L will be realigned through the closed 10L Hold Pad
  • Taxiway T10 west of Runway 14R/32L will be renamed L

The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have coordinated several Notices-to-Airmen (NOTAMs) that will be in place to help notify pilots of these conditions.

Airport diagram changes via the National Aeronautical Charting Office (NACO) will reflect some of the above changes on July 24, 2014, along with another round of taxiway name changes.
