Taxis are a convenient way to get to and from Midway International Airport. Taxicabs are available on a first come, first serve basis from the lower level curbfront of the terminal. Please make sure to use the Taxi Stands to ensure you have a licensed taxi driver. Do not accept rides from drivers outside the cab stand at the departure area of the terminal roadways.
Taxi service is available to City of Chicago and suburban destinations. All taxis should have a working meter to calculate the fare based on time and mileage. Shared ride service is also available. There are no flat rates because all taxicabs run on meters. Fares may vary based on traffic conditions; expect to spend approximately $28 to $30 for a taxicab ride to downtown Chicago.
Shared ride service is available for those that wish to share a ride and pay a flat rate to certain destinations if multiple parties are available for the trip. Shared ride fares from Midway International Airport include downtown or McCormick Place ($16 per person) and O'Hare International Airport ($35 per person).
Please check out the City of Chicago taxi passenger information website for current fare information. For wheelchair accessible vehicles, please call United Dispatch at 1-800-928-1010.

Curbside or Will Call
Arriving passengers should call their limousine service once they have claimed their luggage. They will then be provided with a license plate number, a description of the car, and/or a door number where they can meet their driver. Depending on airport traffic it can take between 3 and 10 minutes for your vehicle to get to your designated pickup location.
Driver in Baggage Claim Area
Some limousine services have employees that are available to meet arriving passengers in the baggage claim area of their flight or in any other pre-designated pickup location within the terminals baggage claim area. The driver can then assist with luggage and take the passenger directly to their vehicle. Midway Airport provides convenient livery parking; it typically requires a 5 to 7 minute walk to the vehicle.
