Chicago Transit Authority and PACE

The Chicago Transit Authority's (CTA) Orange Line serves the Southwest Side of Chicago and connects Midway Airport with downtown Chicago in about 30 minutes.  Please go to the Chicago Transit Authority website for further information. At the airport, follow signs from the airport terminal to the rail station.

Pace Suburban Bus Service operates five bus routes to Midway Airport. All routes depart from the Transit Center at the CTA Orange Line Station.  Pace Route 379-West 79th Street, Route 383-South Cicero, Route 386-South Harlem, Route 390-Midway CTA Station-UPS, and Route 831-Joliet-Midway provide service to a variety of suburban locations including Metra commuter rail stations, shopping centers, UPS Hodgkins, and downtown Joliet. For specific travel information, please contact the RTA Travel Information Center. Riders may connect to other Pace routes at transfer points along these routes. All Pace buses are accessible to persons using mobility assistance devices, and all Pace buses are equipped with bicycle racks.

Currently, the one-way fare is $1.50. Transfers to another Pace route or to a CTA route, valid for two hours, are $0.25. Pace accepts all CTA passes. Exact cash fare is required; economical passes and tickets are available for purchase. RTA Travel Information Center (travel planning):
