Cell phone lots enable motorists to temporarily park free of charge until friends, family members or business associates have deplaned, collected baggage and called to be picked up curbside. These convenient waiting areas eliminate the need for circling the airport repeatedly if an arriving party is later than expected, ultimately resulting in less roadway traffic and congestion, less air pollution and increased auto fuel savings.

The 90-space lot at Midway Airport is conveniently located at 61st and Cicero Avenue just south of the main airport entrance. Both cell phone lots are located four minutes or less from the main terminal area and easily accessible to motorists.

Curbside waiting is prohibited at O’Hare and Midway International Airports. Vehicles waiting in the cell phone lots must be attended at all times. Violators will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
