Attention pilots and all other O'Hare airfield users:
O'Hare International Airport's airfield is changing again
Here's the Long and Short of it...
On May 6, 2010, Runway 14R/32L Will Be Permanently Shortened.
The threshold of Runway 32L will be permanently relocated to accommodate
construction of a new runway for the
O'Hare Modernization Program (OMP)
The following Declared Distances on Runway 14R/32L will then be in
effect:
- Runway 14R LDA = 8,650 feet
- Runway 14R ASDA = 9,662 feet
- Runway 32L ASDA = 9,685 feet
- Runway 32L permanently closed to
arrivals
- Runway 10/28 becomes the longest Runway (13,000 feet)
Additional airfield changes effective April 8, 2010:
- 14L/32R Parallel Taxiway change Taxiway P becomes U
- New southeast taxiways become charted
About the Pilot Awareness Campaign
The Chicago Department of Aviation developed this to raise awareness of
O'Hare International Airport's airfield changes among all key
stakeholders.
How You Can Help
There are many ways in which you can help us educate stakeholders about
the CDA pilot awareness campaign. Help us distribute this information
broadly throughout your organization:
- Post information on Web sites
- Blast e-mail information to employees and colleagues
- Bookmark this webpage, link to this webpage [provide link] or
e-mail the webpage
address to your employees and colleagues
- Download and print attached flier and place in employee break rooms
and pilot lounges
- Attach fliers to paychecks and post them on bulletin boards
- Distribute fliers in staff meetings
The success of this the CDA Pilot Awareness Campaign depends upon all of
O'Hare's users - from pilots to mechanics to motor truck drivers and
many more. We appreciate your assistance in helping us spread the word
