Legislative Guide Annual Update

The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) is pleased to provide an update on our latest accomplishments at Chicago O'Hare and Midway International Airports through the 2021–2022 Legislative Guide Annual Update. Under Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot's leadership, the CDA continues to contribute to the City of Chicago's economic recovery, advance the growth of the Chicago region, and increase diversity, equity, and inclusion through hiring and contracting initiatives. As we renew our infrastructure, we continue to provide safe, secure, and sufficient space to accommodate the needs and demands of the future, while prioritizing and including sustainability in our planning, development, and operations efforts.

Chicago's two-airport system and geographic location are critical to the air traffic network throughout the region, state, nation, and the world. In this fast-paced global marketplace, Chicago's airports move people and products to nearly anywhere in the world on a single flight.  Information on the state of O’Hare and Midway; air service and routes; passenger experience; air cargo; capital improvements; diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives; airport finance and financial structure; sustainability; safety and security; awards; the histories of the airports, and more can be found within this year's Guide.
