RSIP COVID-19 Response

NOTICE AS OF 4/12/21: We are monitoring the COVID-19 seven-day rolling average positivity rates on a ZIP Code by ZIP Code basis to determine if any appointments in homes need to be temporarily suspended within a specific ZIP Code. We will resume or continue appointments in homes if the seven-day rolling average positivity rate in a specific ZIP Code is at or below 5% for three to five days in a row. We will temporarily suspend appointments in homes if the seven-day rolling average positivity rate in a specific ZIP Code is above 5% for three to five days in a row.

At the Residential Sound Insulation Program (RSIP or Program), the safety of our Program participants, as well our staff and colleagues, is our top priority. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has delayed our ability to conduct in-home inspections, appointments, noise audits, repairs, and construction. However, under the guidance of the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) and Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH), the RSIP has developed a protocol of procedures for safely resuming in-home appointments and construction. The protocol includes a list of health-related questions that will be asked of homeowners before any appointment occurs in the home. The CDA greatly appreciates your patience during this unprecedented situation.

The Protocol For Conducting Appointments in Homes (COVID-19) establishes procedures that allow appointments to be conducted in homes, or work to be performed in homes, in a safe manner to help protect participants of the program and to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The homeowner will have to answer a series of health-related questions when appointments are scheduled and again on the day of each appointment. The staff entering homes must also answer the same series of health-related questions on the day of each appointment. We ask that all persons in the home wear a face covering during all appointments and, at a minimum, all persons must wear a face covering if a six-foot social distance cannot be maintained. protocol document is made available to homeowners when scheduling appointments and at the beginning of appointments in the home.
