The following airfield changes are scheduled to occur at O’Hare International Airport on April 30, 2015:

Portions of new Taxiways L, L3 and DD will not be available for use by aircraft immediately, so Notices-to-Airmen (NOTAMS) will be issued until they are opened.
From April 30, 2015 to July 15, 2015, there will be a new intersection departure distance from Runway 28R from Taxiway MM. The departure distance will be 9,237 feet.Taxiway MM is already published on Airport Diagrams for O’Hare via the National Aeronautical Charting Office (NACO), Jeppesen, Lido and NavTech. It is currently closed via a Notice-to-Airmen (NOTAM). Taxiway MM is planned to be constructed over extended nighttime closures during the weekend of April 10-12, 2015 and is the first step of a larger construction program that will occur over the course of 2015 to build new taxiway connections around Taxiways EE and N to improve airfield taxi flows. Once constructed and operational the closure NOTAM will be removed. Taxiway MM is not expected to be used as the intersection departure point for Runway 28R until April 30, 2015.
On April 30 the current Runway 28R intersection departure point (Taxiway EE) will be closed to accommodate construction along with Taxiways N4, N5 and N (between Taxiways MM and GG). In addition to Taxiway MM being used as the new Runway 28R intersection departure point, Runway 28C arrivals taxiing back to the terminal core area will be instructed to use new Taxiway KK, that is highlighted on the exhibit in yellow and shown in closer detail below.
Taxiway KK will be published on Airport Diagrams for O’Hare on April 30 via NACO, Jeppesen, Lido and NavTech. With the activation of new Taxiway KK, five gates at Terminal 5 (M7, M8, M9, M10 and M11) on April 30 must begin contacting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) O’Hare Tower in addition to Ramp Control before pushing back from their gate. Procedures for these communications and pushback maneuvers have been agreed upon, and additional graphics and training material to help pilots and ground handlers understand these will be circulated prior to April 30.
All changes listed above have been coordinated with the FAA and have already been transmitted to the National Aeronautical Charting Office (NACO) to update their April 30, 2015 airways publication charts for O’Hare.
