Finding of No Significant Impact and Final Environmental Assessment
Taxiways A&B Relocation and Rehabilitation and South Airfield Detention Consolidation
Chicago O'Hare International Airport

The City of Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) announces that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced its approval of a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) on a Condensed Environmental Assessment (EA) prepared by the CDA. That finding is for proposed FAA actions to allow for relocation and rehabilitation of Taxiways A&B and South Airfield Detention Consolidation at Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

FAA's FONSI, issued on July 12, 2021, indicates the proposed FAA actions and the local development project are consistent with existing environmental policies and objectives as set forth in the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and will not significantly affect the quality of the environment.

Copies of the environmental decision document (Finding of No Significant Impact or FONSI) and the Final Condensed Environmental Assessment (the background data on which the decision is based) are available for public information review at the links below.
