"Pack Safe" Initiative

Did you know that lithium batteries and aerosol cans may be very dangerous when transported by air? Vibrations, static electricity, and temperature and pressure variations can cause certain items to leak, generate toxic fumes, start a fire or even explode.

When it comes to packing, many travelers know and understand the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) regulations on prohibited items. However, there are many common household goods that represent regulated hazardous materials and are not addressed by the TSA. Thankfully, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has an initiative in place called Pack Safe to directly address and inform travelers of hazardous materials prohibited during flight.

Click to visit the FAA's Pack Safe website to learn more and to see which items are prohibited for carry-on and checked luggage.
